THE ELGIN OPERA HOUSE SUMMER THEATER  AUDITIONS!

Auditions announced for
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers,
Catch Me If You Can
and The Wizard of Oz

 

 The Elgin Opera House will be embarking on a new adventure during the summer of 2017, as we present three musicals in repertory. The project will run for 15 weeks from the end of May through the beginning of September. 

 Auditions for ALL THREE SHOWS will be held on Tuesday, March 21 at 6:30 pm at the Elgin Opera House.  You may audition for ALL of the shows or just one of them. Please see the performance schedule below.  Auditioners will be asked to perform at least 15 measures from a Broadway musical song. A piano and music player will be available. A pianist will not be provided.  Call backs will be held as needed on Thursday, March 23rd at 6:30 pm at the Elgin Opera House.

If you are a child or teen wanting to perform in the Wizard of Oz you will NOT need to audition.  These parts will be cast as part of our Summer Theater Camps.   Teens and Kids ages 6 to 17, please register for one or more of our Summer Theater Camps to participate in The Wizard of Oz. See camp details here.  Scholarships are available.

Teenagers wanting to auditions for Seven Brides and Catch Me If You Can will need to audition.

The rehearsal schedule for each show will be posted after we have cast the show and adjust for actor scheduling conflicts.  Most staging rehearsals will start at the end of May when our hired staff arrives.  However, we will be holding choreography rehearsals for Seven Brides and Catch Me If You Can starting in April.

Seven Brides will be directed by Denise Wheeler.  Catch Me If You Can will be directed by Terry Hale.  The Wizard of Oz will be directed by Jennifer Romriell.  If you have any questions please contact Terry Hale at  terry@elginoperahouse.com or 541-786-0477.
